The bride and groom look all ready to build a beautiful life together.

Here is a flashback to a spring wedding I shot earlier this year. Vanessa & Montana got married at Tunnels beach, one of my favorite beaches on Kauai.

The beach wedding was in danger of being washed out due to the thick cloud cover all over the north shore for most of that day. All the vendors were kept up to date about weather and the back up plan in case it poured. The awesome coordinators at Ali`i Kauai weddings did a great job with this event.

As any wedding photographer will tell you, shooting in the rain is the toughest part of this profession. Obviously you don’t want to get your expensive gear wet and you definitely don’t want to miss an important shot. Not having an assistant just magnifies the difficulty.

As I was driving through Hanalei it was pouring, but when I got to Tunnels it had stopped raining. Everyone was on time and the ceremony started on time.

The sand was wet and made the sunset light softer than usual thus making my job easier. After the ceremony, about ten minutes into the photo shoot, the sun peeked out through the clouds spraying colors all over the sky. It was typical dramatic Kauai sunset lighting that attracts tourists from all over the globe.

I’m glad to say that Vanessa and Montana got married on a beautiful rainy day and the photo shoot went about perfect. Here are a few images from the shoot.
