Surprise Proposal
On a beautiful evening in Hanalei, I was hiding in the bushes ready to shoot at the right time. Crouching beside me was A.T. with his guitar, Joel with the video camera and Veronika, the co-ordinator of this surprise proposal.
About twenty feet away from us was perfect circle of flowers on the beach. It attracted attention of the people passing by it. We just hoped that no one decided to camp in or around it.
I got a text from Eric that he and Adina were going to be there soon. Adina thought they were going to watch the sunset and then head to dinner at Baracuda.
Soon enough I saw them walking down the beach towards the circle of flowers. I started snapping photos. Joel started recording the video and A.T. was raring to go.
On reaching the flowers, Eric took Adina’s hand and stepped inside the circle. Before she could know what was happening, he got down on his knee and proposed and told her how much he loved her and asked her to marry him.
Tears of joy flowed down her face as she said YES.
A.T. hurried out of the bushes with his guitar and started playing Eric & Adina’s favorite song. I followed A.T. and started photographing the happy couple. Joel stayed back and employed his masterful video capturing skills from a distance.
It was such an honor to be a part of Eric and Adina’s special day. It could not have gone better. Everything fell into place and just flowed.
Eric and Adina were over the moon as A.T. sang a beautiful love song, his original composition. I captured these precious moments as the ocean, the sky, and the mountains blessed the happy couple.
Talk about a good day at the office. Doesn’t get any better than this!
